UZETSU is a Tokyo-based performing arts company creating non-verbal stage works that fuse taiko drumming, contemporary dance and aerial acts. No translation, no subtitles.
Our flagship work “UZETSU” is built to be recreated with a different cast and designed to tour. We perform in theatres, on outdoor stages (Burj Park, Dubai) and in short-form versions for ceremonies and receptions.
The Shugendō of the Dewa Sanzan mountains and the worship of Mt. Fuji. The rite of entering the mountain, dying once and being born anew — told through the roar of taiko, bodies trained in Graham technique, and bodies suspended in the air. Green bamboo marks the sacred boundary of the stage; a Fuji-shaped slope, akane-dyed and washi costumes bring real traditional craft into set and costume.
Theatrical premiere February 2026 at Club eX, Shinagawa, Tokyo (360° theatre-in-the-round) — 300 seats sold out on the day. Next: 26–27 September 2026, Performing Arts Base 2026, Tokyo International Forum.
